I'll be honest, I like cooking, but i love eating. I'd rather indulge in someone else's gastronomical delights than stand over the stove any day.
However I think it's time I learned how to create my own versions of the following dishes so as to not have to rely on others when I want a taste-treat.
Here are 10 dishes I like to eat but don't know how to make:
- Homemade Cream of Tomato Soup
- Pad Thai
- Chicken Enchiladas with verde sauce
- Bread Pudding
- Bacon-wrapped anything. (How do you get the bacon to stay on?)
- Ice Cream
- Baklava
- Hummus (not from a box!)
- Naan
- Calimari (do I really want to know?)

I'll volunteer as a taste tester! D can help you out on the naan. He made some for the fam a few years ago. Add a little garlic...fantastique!
I should add #11: gnocchi. Man, I love that stuff!
Ooh, I would love to make naan, too!
I have made gnocchi twice. The first time was a great success and the second a total failure. And I still don't know where I screwed up.
Good luck on your list! Sounds like fun.
I'm just the opposite, Tricia. I've tried to make naan, but failed miserably. In fact, it turned out sooo poorly, I've been scared to try since.
As for gnocchi, I've only had it in restaurants and out of the freezer. To make it fresh intrigues me. As does making my own pasta noodles and ravioli. I think I may splurge on a pasta attachment for my standup mixer this year...
